Ekurhuleni council recommends action against EMPD chief

EKURHULENI – The Ekurhuleni council has resolved that the City Manager must institute disciplinary proceedings against EMPD chief, Isaac Mapiyeye. 
He’s been on suspension after a female staff member lodged a case of sexual harassment and misconduct against him.

In its recommendation, the council refers to serious allegations against Mapiyeye.
He’s also accused of covering up an incident involving his deputy.
Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Phakamile Mbengashe discussed the situation with eNCA.
